Grand Buddha at Ling Shan Jadeite Jade Project

Lingshan Grand Buddha, with a three-layer base, is more than 100 meters high. The Buddha body and lotus seat of the Giant Buddha is all assembled and welded from tin bronze plates. The copper consumption for the construction of Lingshan Giant Buddha alone reached more than 700 tons, and the scenic area was completed at a total cost of more than 2 billion yuan.

Lingshan Grand Buddha stands as a renowned tourist destination globally. Situated in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, it forms a significant part of Wuxi City’s Lingshan scenic area, which holds the prestigious status of being a national AAAAA-rated attraction. Positioned on the southern slope of Mashan, specifically Qinlu Peak, this majestic Buddha structure was successfully constructed and made accessible to the public on November 15, 1997. 

The Lingshan Grand Buddha was crafted in accordance with the descriptions found in the Buddhist Scripture, which outline the thirty-two forms of Tathagata. This magnificent statue, located at Ling Shan, displays a benevolent smile and gazes upon all sentient beings. The right hand symbolizes the alleviation of suffering, while the left hand signifies the bestowal of happiness. These gestures represent blessings. The entirety of the Buddha statue exudes an aura of solemnity, completeness, serenity, dignity, and meticulousness, thereby exemplifying the compassionate nature of the Buddha.
